After finally seeing the very first episode of this show on YouTube the other day, I thought of this idea (along with many other ideas that's coming soon!)
Jake and Rose first bump into each other after school then the American Dragon first met the Huntgirl afterward during his training.
I guess they didn't realized that they have just met before until much later (watch the series to find out how>_<)
